| Dumaguete is a great place...it's like a small American town...had our vacation there last week. Great light, great food, great hotels...BUT BUT BUT BUT the ugly thing about the City is RIGHT NOW? The street children in the boulevard...all of sudden would sing right in front of you and then ask for money....UGLY, UGLY, UGLY thing about Dumaguete. My husband got irritated about it that a supposedly peaceful R&R in the boulevard turned out to be a market of street children begging for money. They were all over...even penetrating the restaurants and singing to the Americans, asking for money....very ugly site...I BELIEVE THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF DUMAGUETE SHOULD LOOK INTO THIS...ASAP. |

| City of Brownouts! I visit Dumaguete almost every month since 2006 and almost 80% of those visits I experienced brownouts, usually unscheduled. Those that are scheduled are usually for a whole daylight period but may extend up to the next day. This is really strange because they have 150MW geothermal power plant in nearby Valencia which I know runs continuously. |
